Modern Sleek Pool Design

The Challenge

The construction of this new concrete swimming pool was complex. The footing of the house rested on the edge beam of the swimming pool. This required special engineering. Approximately 4 tonnes of steel was used in the construction of this pool. The owner also wanted a sunken bar with bar stools in the pool. The pool is also fully tiled with an integrated spa, all of which is remotely controlled. The design of the pool met the brief for a flowing outdoor entertainment area, including outdoor kitchen, water features, fireplace and patio areas. The client also requested an outdoor shower.

The Solution

The construction of a concrete steel reinforced pool met the brief for this client. The fully tiled interior of the swimming pool facilitates easy maintenance and cleaning as well as a superior high gloss finish.  The equipment is all high grade Viron equipment as only the best would do. The water feature cascades under the deck and back into the pool. This creates a unique interest and the impression of the water flowing from an unknown source.  This pool also has gas heating via a Viron 350. It has aqua quip LED lighting. The flooring is a combination of decking, honed concrete and Ecostone Grey Travertine tiles. The water feature has special LED down lights adding ambiance to the pool area.

Ultimate Luxury

New Concrete Pool

The Challenge

The owners were looking to create their ultimate outdoor lifestyle area which included a new concrete pool. They had a very clear idea of the swimming pool area they wanted. Part of the challenge was working with a very narrow block. Not only did the clients want a pool area but they also wanted to retain a garden. It was also part of the design concept to turn the outbuilding into a guest house and link the new concrete pool to the main house. With a little baby on the way, there were also time constraints to get this major new concrete pool project finished in the shortest time possible without compromising quality.

The Solution

We designed this new pool to fit between the house and the future guest house, enabling the maximum saving of space so as to retain most of the garden. This created an illusion of the garden and entertainment area being a lot bigger than it was. The boundary wall was used to create a stunning travertine water feature opposite the hot spa pool. This water feature created a focal point without using premium space and also served as a privacy screen from neighbours. The house and guest house were seamlessly incorporated into the design concept, using natural stone and jarrah wood decking with mood lighting. The glass fencing added that final touch, creating an open flowing space that works beautifully.

Entertaining Paradise

Pool Renovation creates whole new family entertainment area

The Challenge

The owners of this worn out fibreglass pool were looking for a complete make-over of their entertainment area, not just a pool renovation. This is a fair sized swimming pool and the owners wanted to maximise their garden and pool area. The fibreglass interior of this preformed pool had worn away over may years of use and a pool renovation was really the best way to go.

The Solution

To create the client’s dream entertainment area, we had to completely remove the old pool. We built a new pool and spa, a truly major pool renovation. Natural stone was used for the surround and complimented with wooden decking, water features and soft night lighting. The underwater lights in the pool and spa are multi-coloured LED lights, adding the option to change the ambience and colour to suit your design. Overall, this pool renovation was a great success.  The clients were very happy and we were very proud of a job well done.

Backyard Make-Over

Concrete Pool Renovation

The Challenge

The owners wanted a concrete pool renovation to match their newly renovated home. The concrete level of the old pool was 200mm higher than the finished floor level of the house. One of the biggest challenges was to lower this level as it involved cutting down the edge beam of the swimming pool by about 300mm. Fortunately the pool was deep enough for us to do so and accommodate the depth required.

A heated spa was also on the wish list and the pool had be to redesigned to accommodate this. This required building a different structure within the old pool and fitting a whole new plumbing system.

The Solution

We created this fantastic concrete pool renovation by finishing the swimming pool with an Aqua-guard fibreglass lining. The spa was fully tiled with beautiful, sparkly ceramic tiles. The pool surround was created from Jarrah coloured honed, exposed aggregate. The flower boxes were built to incorporate a stone water feature. The sheer decent water feature falls behind the Merbau deck and then flows under the deck returning into the swimming pool. The magical effect of this is that the water seems to disappear from the tranquil water feature. Lighting was effectively used to accentuate the design elements.

The owners had recently upgraded the existing equipment which we were able to reconfigure and use and only had to add one addition pump and blower for the spa.

After

We absolutely love our new pool. It’s a dream come true. At night it transports us to somewhere really special. Sitting in the heated spa and watching the water feature and water shadows from the pool lights is really stunning.

Concrete Pool Restoration

Concrete Pool Restoration

The Challenge

The owners of this tired old pool were looking for a complete concrete pool restoration and an update of their outdoor area.  This is a very large swimming pool and the surround was seriously in need of updating. The interior of the pool was structurally sound, but the marble sheen plaster had worn away over may years of use.

The Solution

We rejuvenated this pool by adding a new header and surround using natural stone products. We also resurfaced the interior of the swimming pool with Colour-Quartz plaster for the ultimate concrete pool restoration. The clients were thrilled with the results! They now have their very own resort style pool to enjoy for years to come.
